EVENTS 15 GUILD PREPARING COVID-SAFE EVENT PLAN FOR APP21 The Pharmacy Guild is working on the organisation of next year’s APP2021 with the aim of having a Covid-safe event plan ready to ensure the safety and wellbeing of attendees. APP Convenor Kos Sclavos says the organising committee is going above and beyond what is required by the Queensland government, to inspire confidence in attendees that the event will be Covid safe. “The safety of attendees is our number one priority and we’re working closely with the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre to mitigate any risks associated with Covid-19,” he said. “Last month we attended the first major event to be held at the Centre since the shutdown of the sector – the Local Government Association of Queensland conference and trade exhibition – and feel reassured that the venue is taking the appropriate measures to safeguard visitors. “Once completed, our Covid-safe event plan will be approved by an infectious disease expert, which is beyond the government’s requirement for events such as APP. “While some elements of APP will be a bit different, due to Covid restrictions, we’re looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues and reviving APP’s amazing atmosphere.” APP2021 is scheduled to be held from 20-23 May on the Gold Coast.
